Shoalhaven Library News
At Pokemania we played bingo, coloured bookmarks and pics and played pin the tail on Pikachu. I’m still not too sure what it’s all about, but thanks for trying to teach me J The boys had a great time and it would be lovely to see more girls at this event next time we run it.
Rags to Bags was a big success- who knew sewing was so popular? The Shoalhaven has some budding designers out there, with everyone walking away with an awesome funky bag. Well done!
Our Eggcellent Easter Eggstravaganza finished off our activities with a bang. Kids made and decorated their own origami Easter baskets- just perfect for collecting all those eggs on Sunday! A very creative session.
Once you get over eating all those chocolate eggs it’s back to school. Here’s what’s on for Term 2 at Nowra Library:
Rhymetime is held every second Thursday during school terms at 10am. It is a short session, usually lasting 15-20 mins and involves rhyme, repetition and music. Rhymetime is suitable for children aged 0-18 months (but those 2 year olds can join in too!). We have colouring available for older siblings.
Term 2 dates are:
Thursday 5th May
Thursday 19th May (Families Week)
Thursday 2nd June
Thursday 16th June
Thursday 30th June
Storytime returns in Term 2 with more excellent themes and stories. If you like stories, songs and craft, then make sure you come along to Nowra Library at 10am every second Tuesday (excluding school holidays). Storytime is for children aged 2-5.
Term 2 dates are:
Tuesday 3rd May ‘Musical Madness’
Tuesday 17th May ‘Alphabet Soup’ (Families Week)
Tuesday 31st May ‘Fruit Salad’
Tuesday 14th June ‘Under the Sea’
Tuesday 28th June ‘Whatever the Weather’
National Simultaneous Storytime is happening again in May. This is an event where children all over Australia read the same book at the same time. NSS will be held on Wednesday 25th May at 11.00am. Suitable for children aged 2-7 but everyone welcome.
This year’s story is Feathers for Phoebe by Rod Clement, about a grey bird who wishes he were different. A beautifully illustrated story that will stay with you for a while.
All activities can be booked in person or by emailing or phoning me on 4429 3712. Please feel free to get in contact for any information on activities or Library related enquiries.
