Assignment Guidelines
As a carer of young children and as a representative of Daisycare Nanny Agency™ there are certain expectations to be met…
ALWAYS -
- Remember YOU are solely responsible for children in your care – at all times.
- Ensure the constant safety and supervision of all children in your care.
- Research the location of the babysitting session – so you know how to get there
- Remember YOU are solely responsible for children in your care – at all time
- Try to take along some books, toys or games suitable for the children. Better still take your own Babysitter Kit.
- To engage in child focused activities that are age appropriate, interest-based and help to develop key learning areas and areas of development.
- Aim to arrive about 10 minutes early to each babysitter session
- Present yourself in a professional manner at all babysitting assignments
- Remember you are representing not just yourself – but our agency as well
- Contact the client first – in the case of an emergency. Contact the agency immediately if you are unsure of what to do
- Tidy up after playing with the children or feeding them a meal
- Leave the house/hotel room as tidy as it was when you arrived
- Leave a Assignment Summary for the client that explains what the children did while they were in your care
- Immediately let the agency know if you have issues or concerns about a babysitting session
- To respect and uphold the family’s privacy and confidentiality at all times.
DO NOT –
- Give medication to any child in your care – unless the client has completed the medication form.
- Smoke while you are at any babysitting sessions – this is a big no-no
- Consume alcohol or any restricted substances before or during a babysitting session
- Remove the children from the babysitting session without the client’s permission
- Eat or drink anything from the client’s house/hotel room unless given permission to do so
- Leave the children unattended or in the care of a 3rd party, at anytime throughout the babysitting session
- Use any type of physical punishment on any child Daisycare Nanny Agency protects and respects the right of the child
- Use the client’s phone – unless it is an emergency or pre-arranged with the client
- Allow other persons entry to the client’s house/hotel room without prior consent of the client
- Ask a client for more than the agreed hourly rate of payment
